Pride at Work and Union Veterans Council React to House Resolution Condemning Trump Administration’s Transgender Military Ban

WASHINGTON – Today, in a bipartisan vote, the House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning the Trump Administration’s ban on transgender military service and urging the Department of Defense to not reinstate the ban. Pride at Work’s Executive Director, Jerame Davis and Union Veterans Council’s Executive Director, Will Attig, responded jointly to the news:

“We applaud the House for its bipartisan vote today in opposition to the Trump Administration’s ban on transgender people serving in our armed forces. This nonsensical policy – announced by Trump via Twitter, no less – is not based on science or facts and the House was right to condemn it.

“Pride at Work and Union Veterans Council strongly support our transgender brothers, sisters, and siblings who serve our country proudly every day. Every American deserves the freedom to serve their country with the dignity and respect that all of those who wear or have worn the uniform deserve.”
