Pride At Work joins IAM’s Human Rights Conference

Pride At Work was honored to participate in the International Association of Machinists’ (IAM) Human Rights Conference, “Breaking Barriers,” held last week in Atlanta, Georgia, hosting a table and taking part in the myriad of speeches throughout the week.

Interim Executive Director Brittany Anderson delivered powerful remarks on the urgent need to uplift LGBTQIA+ voices within the labor movement and to stand firm in the fight for queer and trans rights nationwide. At a time when government officials and right-wing leaders continue to spread dangerous misinformation and hate about trans people and immigrants, Pride At Work remains unwavering: we proudly and unapologetically organize for trans liberation and LGBTQIA+ justice. We do not bow to bigotry. We do not back down.

We extend our deep gratitude to IAM President Brian Bryant, General Secretary-Treasurer Dora Cervantes, and Civil and Human Rights Director Nicole Fears for creating space for this vital work. It was a privilege to join IAM’s human rights activists, women’s advocates, young workers, and community leaders from across North America in advancing equity, diversity, and solidarity throughout the labor movement.
