Andry Hernández Romero: Released from El Salvador prison, but sent back to Venezuela without due process
Andry Hernández Romero, a Californian who sought safety from persecution for being gay in Venezuela, was unjustly detained for over four months in El Salvador’s notorious CECOT mega-prison. CECOT is a facility contracted by the U.S. government for mass incarceration, where due process is nonexistent and brutality and overcrowding are routine. This weekend, he was released and sent back to Venezuela.
