On Sunday, June 8, Pride at Work and the AFL-CIO hosted March with Labor in World Pride. A little (or a lot) of rain couldn’t stop us from joining together to stand up against the attacks on our trans, non-binary, and intersex siblings. Across race, place, and genders, we all deserve to have the freedom to shine bright as our authentic selves, and to work and live with safety, respect, and dignity.

On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, Pride at Work members from the past three decades and siblings from across many movements, joined together at the AFL-CIO to celebrate the life of Pride at Work founder Nancy Wohlforth, whose organizing and leadership in the labor, LGBTQIA+, anti-war, and civil rights movements have a profound lasting impact on us all. 

Pride at Work shares immense gratitude for OPEIU, the AFL-CIO, and Nancy’s beloved wife Denice Lombard hosting the celebration. AFL-CIO President Liz Schuler shared moving remarks about Nancy’s trailblazing leadership, CWA International President Emeritus Larry Cohen emceed, and the DC Labor chorus led us in song.

As the national organization fighting to ensure that LGBTQIA+ people work, organize, and live with equality, dignity, and respect, Pride at Work stands in solidarity with Garden State Equality Workers United as they join together to exercise their right to form a union. As New Jersey’s statewide LGBTQIA+ organization, Garden State Equality shares our core value:  An injury to one is an injury to all! What GSE preaches externally should also be reflected internally.
