WHEREAS, hotels are making a push to have it’s guests go GREEN;

WHEREAS, our members are mislead by this push; and,

WHEREAS, many of these hotel workers, primarily the house keeping staff, are sent home due to the lack of work and some lose their tip income.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Pride at Work request our members to NOT participate in any action that could result in workers be sent home. When “GREEN” refers to housekeeping staff not cleaning your room daily,this could lead to workers being sent home; and,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Pride at Work dedicate time to educate union brothers and sisters and thecommunity at large about the attempt to impoverish hotel workers by developing these “green” programs.
