Trans Day of Visibility, March 31st, 2024

Today and every day we celebrate the remarkable achievements of our Trans siblings. It is inspiring to see their resilience and determination in the face of targeted attacks on them throughout the country. We still have a long way to go to guarantee equal rights for Trans and LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Rather than simply fighting to maintain the rights we already have, we must work together to achieve full equality. It is our shared responsibility to ensure that every individual, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation, has the same opportunities and rights as everyone else.

To accomplish this, it is crucial that we educate ourselves about the experiences of our Trans siblings. We must listen to their stories, learn from their perspectives, and actively work towards dismantling the systems that perpetuate discrimination and inequality. By doing so, we can create a more inclusive and accepting society for everyone.

We must show solidarity with our Trans siblings and work towards a future where everyone, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation, can live their lives with dignity and respect.

We are committed to advocating for equality for all and pledge to always stand side-by-side with our Trans siblings on the front lines. We will continue to push for equal treatment in our Union contracts, in our healthcare, and in the halls of power. We believe that everyone deserves to be treated with respect, dignity, and fairness, and we will tirelessly work towards making this a reality for all.
